Measurable results driving real change in communities across Uganda through sustainable programs and partnerships.
Real numbers that represent real lives changed
Expanding our reach to serve more women and girls across Uganda
On October 8th, 2021, we launched with 7,000 packets of pads distributed across four communities in Kampala.
We continue to expand our programs to new communities, with plans to reach more regions across Uganda.
Our goal is to reach 50+ communities and distribute over 100,000 pads to girls and women in need.
Comprehensive approaches to menstrual health and women's empowerment
When girls and women have access to safe and affordable sanitary materials to manage their menstruation, they decrease their risk of infections and can participate fully in daily life.
Promoting menstrual health and hygiene safeguards women's dignity, privacy, bodily integrity, and self-efficacy. Awareness of menstrual health contributes to building an environment of non-discrimination where female voices are heard and girls have choices about their future.
Every year an average woman discards about 150 kilograms of non-biodegradable waste from disposable sanitary products.
FHF partners with Community Based Organizations to equip, support, and empower teenage mothers through community outreach programs.
Menstrual health refers to a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being in relation to the menstrual cycle. It's central to achieving multiple Sustainable Development Goals.
Menstruation health continues to be constrained by cultural taboos and discriminatory social norms. The resulting lack of information leads to unhygienic and unhealthy practices.
For Her Foundation works with schools to incorporate information on menstruation into the curriculum for both girls and boys to reduce stigma and contribute to better education and health outcomes.
Our Commitment
For generations, poor menstrual health has exacerbated social and economic inequalities. We're working to change this narrative through education, access, and advocacy.
